University School received a grant of $10,000 from the Toyota TAPESTRY grant program. This program is sponsored by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. and administered by the National Science Teachers Association. The project, A Curriculum Using Wetlands as a Primary Data Source, has Jane Bibring as Project Director with Randy Hoover-Dempsey, Bill Rodriguez, Steve Smail as staff. This generous funding has allowed us to purchase scientific equipment and items such as hip boots for students. We are studying specific aspects of the wetlands and are working up projects which can be incorporated at all grade levels. We aim expose all USN students to wetland studies.
