The first requirement for viewing the HyperStudio Stacks on these pages

is that you have the HyperStudio Browser Plug-in installed on your computer.

Please NOTE!!! As of February, 2002, it has been noted that the available Hyperstudio browser plug-ins have ceased working! This renders the stacks posted here pretty useless. Although we are working on a way to salvage the contents of this Web site, at this time we can only apologize until HyperStudio decides to update its outdated browser plug-in to function with the newer Web browsers. Our humblest apologies...

In the rare possibility that you are running Netscape or Internet Explorer versions 4 or earlier, here are the original download instructions:

Download the HyperStudio Plug-in Now! Select the "4.1" plugin for your own operating system. During installation, you will most likely be prompted to close your browser and then to restart your computer. See you in a few minutes!!!

In February, 2001, the fourth graders of Ms. Hunt’s, Ms. Marler’s, Mr. Kleiner’s, and Ms. Kyger’s classrooms spent several sessions each in the USN Lower School’s “Technology for Learning Lab,” converting their recently completed Aztecs research into HyperStudio presentations. These presentations, called “stacks,” have been reformatted to display online, and we present them here for your enjoyment.

Viewers be aware: This online presentation combines the products of several developing technologies and, as a result, display/performance reliability may be an issue. In our first classroom tests of the stacks, however, 21 out of 24 tested stacks performed quite nicely! Good luck! Please email Mr. Merrick with any questions or comments!!!

The students’ original research utilized sets of classroom books, and these were number-coded and indexed to facilitate bibliographic citation. A list of these references appears here.

Some graphic images in the files were obtained over the internet from Aztec-related website called "Aztec Graphics." Educational use of these graphics is permitted as detailed on the website. Graphics from a children's site called "Learn About the Aztecs and the Aztec Sun Calendar" are used by direct permission of that site's author.

Click on the name of the student whose work you want to view. When you are finished, navigate “Back” to the names page to view another if you wish. Please note the "caveat" about the Back button on the "Names" page. Meanwhile: Enjoy!!!
