Tibbott Center Grand Opening,
August 24, 2003

The Sunday afternoon before school started, USN and Christine Slayden Tibbott welcomed many friends. The hundreds attending the dedication of USN’s new visual arts building included Mrs. Tibbott’s family, former students, and friends as well as many other PDS and USN alumni and USN teachers, students, and parents.

After brief remarks from President of USN’s Board of Trustees Mike Shmerling ’73, former Board President Ann Fundis, and Director Vince Durnan, Bud Zander ’53 introduced Chris Tibbott, who delighted the crowd with her stories of teaching at PDS.

Then everyone was invited to wander around the new Tibbott Center, which was ready to open for the business of teaching middle and high school art classes the following morning.
