801 Flexibility Training and Stretch Without Yoga
Remaining as flexible as possible without risking injury to a joint or muscle is one fitness challenge that even many athletes ignore. DR. IRV RUBENSTEIN, exercise physiologist and co-founder of S.T.E.P.S., Inc., Nashville's first personal training studio, will show you how to stretch for activity, injury prevention, comfort, convenience, and life.

802 Strength Training in a Busy World
This class is for old or young, male or female, athletic or non-athletic. You will learn how, why, when, and even where to strengthen your body under the guidance of DR. IRV RUBENSTEIN, a multiple-certified trainer. He will also teach you how to streamline your strength training routine and how to program your progress.

803 Body Sculpting
Looking to tone your body and have a great time? This is the class! Using a medicine and stability ball along with some dumbbells, DR. IRV RUBENSTEIN, exercise physiologist, will show you a whole body routine to shore up the legs, glutes, and lower back - all to great music! Participants are limited to those with no lumbar disc problems. Come in your workout gear, ready to have a ball!

804 Iyengar Yoga: The Joy is in the Journey
Discovering the joy of yoga is a transformative experience on many levels. The practice of yoga encompasses using the mind and body to create a soft and supple path of least resistance. Under the guidance of CHRISTY BROCK, who has been practicing yoga for ten years and teaching for six years, students will explore the combination of effort and surrender that is at the heart of yoga. She will help you unwind with stability, strength and flexibility. No previous experience is necessary to participate in this rewarding class. Students are asked to bring a sticky mat to class. Mats will be available for purchase at 12South Yoga for $25.

805 Don't Be a Victim: Karate and Self-Defense
Circumstance, lifestyle, or simply the era in which we live make most of us feel physically vulnerable at times. The trick is not to give into the fear and become a victim. SUSAN SCHWARTZ, a second-degree black belt who has studied karate since 1994 and won awards in several regional tournaments, offers this introductory course to basic self-defense and karate techniques for those with little or no martial arts training. Learn strategies to prevent becoming a target and to escape an attacker.

806 Basic Principals of Pilates
JULIE KRAFT, a certified Pilates instructor since 1997 and owner/operator of Springs Studio, will teach you the Pilates method of body conditioning. Learn how Pilates enhances body alignment, posture, and breathing, while improving overall strength and flexibility. Basic to intermediate level mat exercises will be introduced in these classes. An excellent way to tone and condition!

807 Piloga - Pilates and Power Yoga
KATHY MOORE, a certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer with fourteen years experience, will lead you through this specially designed class which combines the elements of both Pilates and power yoga. It is designed for the fitness enthusiast seeking a new challenge. Students should bring a yoga mat to class.

808 Swing and Salsa Basics
Back by popular demand! PHILLIP DORROLL, award-winning dancer and owner of Dance Connection Ballroom Dance Studio, will teach introductory Swing and Salsa patterns that will get you into the action on the dance floor. Don't worry if you have two left feet, Phillip can make one of them right!

809 Swing and Salsa Advanced
Okay, you've completed the Swing and Salsa Basics course and are ready for more. In these three sessions, PHILLIP DORROLL will include some extra tricks and moves and will teach intermediate level patterns. Students must have completed class #808 or know the basics of each dance in order to participate in this class.
