One reason why the traffic has improved in the mornings: USN’s second bike rack, acquired after a newly installed unit filled up on a consistent basis this month. Another reason is the USN morning shuttle bus, and a third is exemplified by students like freshman Antone Christianson-Galina (above), who rode the new express RTA bus from Hendersonville to USN yesterday. He says the bus is easier for everybody, and he would be happy to see other USN riders on the trip to 21st Avenue.



The high school Operation Smile Club is having a car wash in Green Hills (between Wendys and TCBY at the manual car wash) this Saturday, October 4 from 10:00-1:30. The suggested price is $8.



This year’s Edna Thomas Lecture Series for parents features Dr. Anthony Wolf, best-selling author of Get Out of My Life, but First Could You Drive Me and Cheryl to the Mall? on Tuesday, October 28. Read more.

The HS Community Service club helped to “Rock the Vote,” a campaign to encourage voters to register for the upcoming election. Aliza Sir ‘09 hosted a group of 11 students who made over 350 calls, including one to a soldier who had returned from Iraq the day before.

Pat will talk about National Endowment for the Humanities Landmarks of American History Workshops, while Mackey will discuss the collapse and rebirth of Classic Mayan civilization.
