September 11 is HS Parents’ Night. It begins at 7:00 in your child’s advisor’s classroom and lasts until 8:40.



Parent Orientation on September 13 offers parents of freshmen a chance to listen to and talk with those who know plenty about high school at USN. Read more.






The High School Community Service Officers are ready for another rewarding and productive year. High Schoolers should be on the lookout for training sessions for Edgehill Community Center, KIPP Academy, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters, all commencing next week. Plans are underway for a spring service trip to Appalachia, and the Operation Smile chapter is already gearing up. Meanwhile, Lily Alberts and Kayla Ducklo are finalizing plans for the HS annual Community Service Day in November.



Last Wednesday the senior class went to Belmont University for Senior Induction, where they set goals for the year, then returned to USN in time to be recognized as leaders at the high school’s weekly assembly.

At student urging, USN has formed its own Middle School team to compete in this years Lego Robotics competition. The group plans to meet weekly after school to prepare. Volunteering their time to provide leadership are 5th grade science teacher Wilson Hubbell and HS physics teacher Bill Rodriguez. Dr. Howard Rosen (Dr. R.) presents a special kickoff discussion to the 8th Grade Physical Science study of “Force and Motion.” Dr. R. is in his seventh year of volunteering as a classroom assistant for our eighth grade science course. Drawing from a long and respected career as a physician in Nashville, he brings an uncommon and well-informed perspective into the classroom.
