Twenty-five volunteers from grades 4 and 7 and from high school jumped at the challenge to recycle at Peabodys graduation, further strengthening our commitment to sustainability issues, providing additional links to our neighbors, and experiencing first-hand a top-notch recycling program. The forks and spoons biodegrade in four months, and we can even eat them! exclaimed one student.




Next Friday, May 23 is the last day to return textbooks to the bookstore for credit.

Your child can discover this summer that learning a new language is fun—classes for 1st through 6th graders held at USN are taught in the TPR method which aims to duplicate the effortless way we acquire our first language as babies. Read more.

MTSU Adult Summer Language Institute
The MTSU Adult Summer Language Institute offers intensive language classes at USN for adults (also open to rising 7th graders and older students). Sponsored by the Center for Accelerated Language Acquisition at MTSU, language offerings include: German, Arabic, Chinese/Mandarin, French, Scottish Gaelic, and Spanish. Regular library circulation closes tomorrow. All items borrowed during the school year must be returned to the library by May 16. Any items not returned will be charged to the student’s account so the library can replace the item in the collection.

Check Out Summer Reading Books
The books on the middle and high school summer reading lists will be available for check out starting Monday, May 19. Students may borrow the books for the summer and return them the first week of school.

Friday the HS baseball team competes in the Division II class A sub-state tournament at the River Campus, the first appearance for a USN baseball team in a sub-state event. The Tigers take on Harding Academy of Memphis. The tournament is a best of three, with two games played on Friday. The first game begins at 2:00 and the second game begins thirty minutes after the first one ends. If necessary, the teams will play a third game Saturday at noon.

On Saturday, the HS boys' soccer team will play Harding Academy at 5:00 in the Sub-State of the DII/A Soccer Tournament at the River Campus.

Please come out and cheer on these teams. Because these are TSSAA events, there will be an admission charge of $6 dollars.
