Tuesday night, Afro-Peruvian coastal polyrhythms and traditional instruments mixed with traditional jazz as Gabriel Alegría and the Afro-Peruvian Sextet took the stage to a full house in the USN Auditorium. The concert and associated master class, which raised more than $1000 for earthquake relief in Peru, was part of this year's expansive Evening Classes program. Many thanks to all out there who attended the event and donated to the cause.

On Wednesday afternoon Carol Gilligan, author of the seminal 1982 book In A Different Voice, spoke at USN. After the HS Theater Guild presented scenes from her play that is an adaptation of The Scarlet Letter, Gilligan discussed the novel’s moral complexity and answered questions from the audience.

Goodlettsville Driver Training is offering Driver Education Classes at USN
this summer.
The course consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of time behind the wheel. You may choose
either of two sessions:
June 2-5 or July 7-10,

Kindergarten children in Ms. McCullough’s class learn about identifying trees by their buds with lower school naturalist Cynthia Lee.





In the Individual State Chess Championships at Tennessee Tech, third grader Elsa Wilson won 4 of her 5 Chess games. She tied for second place, and on tie breaks, Elsa brought home the fourth place trophy.
