The High School’s 20/20 Day, this year’s version of Issues Day, focused on the theme of Identity Awareness. A day of small group discussions led by students ended with a silent activity called the Identity Spectrum (above). Daniel Gordon taught this first-time winter P.E. option for 7th and 8th graders which may pave the way for competition with other middle schools next year.



Tomorrow, February 8, Middle School holds its annual Talent Show, which promises a very entertaining range of student talent. Please join us. The show begins at 1:00 in the auditorium. Middle School will have regular dismissal (3:15).

Fourth grade teachers and Lower School Naturalist Cynthia Lee spent the day February 1 at the Warner Parks in the class “Identifying Trees by Twigs and Bark,” taught by the Park naturalists. That afternoon they walked in the woods and practiced identifying trees by their bark.

The Middle School Boys’ Basketball
Tiger of the Week is 6th grader James Douglas. James plays on both the 6th grade team and the B team, logging more than twenty minutes a game for each team. He is a hard worker who leads by example. On Monday, he scored 15 points against Page Middle School for his highest output of the season.



Health Forms Needed

All high school and middle school athletes must have a health form on file with the athletic department before they engage in team practices. Forms are on the USN website and should be returned to Josh Scouten in the athletics office. Email jscouten@usn.org if you have questions.
