At the Christ the King scholastic chess tournament, the primary team of Wei Dai, Joshua Esquivel, Puja Jagasia, Tanuj Koli, Andrew Steed and Elsa Wilson placed second. Elsa came in fourth and Puja sixth. The elementary team of Jing Dai, Robert Green, Ria Jagasia, Moorey Philips, and Jake Wilson came in third in overall standings.



Fourth graders use their GPS handheld units to find trees on the Peabody Green, part of their year-long tree study in the place-based education initiative. Read more.

Visitors from Kentucky Down Under joined USN’s seventy-two first graders at the close of their study of Australia. The children met a Bennett’s wallaby, a python, a yellow-crested cockatoo, and a blue tongue skink lizard. The students also painted didgeridoos, a musical instrument played by the Aborigine people.

Music Night 2008

Ben Folds is playing at Music Night, Saturday, January 26. Tickets are $75 for general admission and $150 for patrons. The concert, suitable for high school age and above, is at the Belcourt. Read more.

Penny Deliveries
Pennies are being collected in classrooms this year. Lower School families should bring their penny sacks to their classroom teacher. Middle and High school students can make deposits in their advisors room. We have extended the Penny Harvest until December 5th to allow for a final push in our efforts to earn Roundtable discussion groups. We thank you in advance for your support.

Health Forms Needed

All high school and middle school athletes must have a health form on file with the athletic department before they engage in team practices. Forms are on the USN website and should be returned to Josh Scouten in the athletics office. Email jscouten@usn.org if you have questions.
