At the Christ the King scholastic chess tournament, the primary team of Wei Dai, Joshua Esquivel, Puja Jagasia, Tanuj Koli, Andrew Steed and Elsa Wilson placed second. Elsa came in fourth and Puja sixth. The elementary team of Jing Dai, Robert Green, Ria Jagasia, Moorey Philips, and Jake Wilson came in third in overall standings.

Visitors from Kentucky Down Under joined USN’s seventy-two first graders at the close of their study of Australia. The children met a Bennett’s wallaby, a python, a yellow-crested cockatoo, and a blue tongue skink lizard.
