Tomorrow’s K-8 Dismissal Times
Students K-8 will be dismissed early on Friday, October 4. For K-2, dismissal time is 11:20, and for 3-8, dismissal is at 11:30.


Last Friday evening USN families came to school to shop at the Fall Book Frenzy used book sale and watch movies under the stars at Fall Fest.

AP Scholars

Seventy-four recent USN graduates or current seniors have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the Advanced Placement Program® (AP®) Exams last May.

61% of the Class of 2007 is an AP Scholar, compared to 18% of the more than 1.4 million high school students in 16,000 secondary schools who took AP Exams.

Freshman Class Field Trip Day
Tomorrow, October 5, all freshmen and their teachers will travel off campus for a day of experiential and inter-disciplinary learning. In the morning they will be at the River Campus and in the afternoon at the Parthenon in Centennial Park. Read more.


Governor’s School for Academics

Summer 2008 Academic Governor’s School applications for qualified students in the tenth and eleventh grades who would like to participate in a challenging program are now available in Mrs. Wallis’ office or online at www.tennessee.gov/education/govschools. Read more

Summer 2008 Governor’s School for the Arts applications are now available in Mrs. Wallis’ office or on line at www.tennessee.gov/education/govschools. The Governor’s Schools for the ARTS will offer talented high school students intensive learning experiences in the areas of Music, Theatre, Visual Art, or Dance.

10th Grade Parent Get-Together

All high school and middle school athletes must have a health form on file with the athletic department before they engage in team practices. Forms are on the USN website and should be returned to Josh Scouten in the athletics office. Email jscouten@usn.org if you have questions.
