About artclectic
artclectic 2008 celebrates the 12th anniversary of University School of Nashville's fundraising event. artclectic has established a unique place among the city's various art festivals and benefits, living up to its name by showcasing a diverse assortment of artists in a lively setting.
The show provides valuable art education for USN students and the Nashville community through such enriching experiences as art demonstrations, class tours of the show, and discussions with the artists. Proceeds benefit the artclectic Endowment Fund for Innovative Teaching (find out more).
This October, the University School gymnasium will once again be transformed into a large-scale art gallery, with professional lighting and spaces for as many as 60 artists. "It's like a rock show for art!" exclaimed one participant last fall.
"A compelling mix of mediums and styles, an openness to both tradition and experimentation, a continued insistence on aesthetic quality over commercial viability; all these factors make artclectic more than simply a fund-raiser for a worthy cause. I hope that visitors to this year's show will find the works on view to be as beautiful and compelling as I did, and will appreciate the educational experience it provides for the students of the University School of Nashville."
