artclectic 2006 Education Day
artclectic 2006 provides
a unique arts forum for University School of Nashville and the community
by showcasing a diverse selection of
quality art chosen by a jury of respected art experts. USN is dedicated
to enriching peoples’ lives through art. The Christine Slayden
Tibbott Art Center is an 18,000 square foot complex already equipped
with facilities for artistic pursuits ranging from photography, painting,
sculpture, and ceramics to digital graphics, woodworking, and more.
We plan to further enhance the program with the addition of metalsmithing,
jewelry, and cold and warm glass working.
Every single artist will
participate in some aspect of Education Day. Many may choose to be
in the gallery with their work to talk
to students
about themselves and their art. Some will give demonstrations. Others
will share their talents as guest artists in classrooms not only
in the Tibbott Center but also throughout our K-12 campus. All of
our
students will have the opportunity to tour artclectic 2006 and/or
to participate in workshops with artists in the classroom.
Possible
future Education Day offerings include symposiums, lecture demonstrations,
adult classes (for more information about workshops
see “workshops”) with visiting artists, videoconferencing,
gallery tours, expanded outreach to students at other schools, and
discussion forums with the jurors.
The possibilities are endless…
